Clarkesville’s fall and winter events: Something for everyone

Busy schedule includes concerts, festivals, and Christmas celebrations

Clarkesville has a busy schedule of events for the fall and winter seasons. With activities, shopping, and live entertainment, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

This fall kicks off with the eagerly anticipated return of the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair. This family favorite runs September 6 through 14 at the Habersham County Fairgrounds in Clarkesville. The fair’s hours of operation are:
Friday 5-10 p.m.
Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Monday-Thursday 5-9 p.m.

Other upcoming events

The city wraps up its Summer Concert Series the last two weekends of this month, Sept. 21 and 28. Enjoy live entertainment as you stroll the shops or kick back in a lawn chair and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Music on both dates runs from 1 to 4 p.m. in downtown Clarkesville Square.

One of the season’s highlights is the Fall Festival and History Harvest on Saturday, October 5. The event takes place in downtown Clarkesville and features a variety of local vendors selling unique products alongside a mouthwatering selection of food. With engaging activities and crafts designed for the whole family, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The crisp, cool weather creates the perfect atmosphere for a day of fun and community spirit!

Another great option is the Soque River Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, October 19. The event takes place along the Soque River in downtown Clarkesville and features a variety of artistic wonders. From masterful paintings and sculptures to gorgeous woodwork and metal art, the festival celebrates local and regional talent. It is a unique experience for anyone who loves to create art.

Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the holiday season at a Downtown Clarkesville Christmas on December 7. The city will wrap up its holiday happenings with a downtown Candlelight Christmas Walk.
