A 19-year old Clarkesville woman is dead after being hit by an SUV in Cleveland last night.
Officials say Stormi Whisnant was killed when a Ford Expedition hit her on GA 11 near Hope Drive in the area of the Walmart shopping center.
The accident happened around 7:55 p.m.
According to a report from the Georgia State Patrol post in Gainesville, Whisnant entered the roadway from the concrete divider on GA 11, walking east into the path of the northbound Expedition. The report states Whisnant was wearing dark clothing – a black/navy shirt and black pants – and the driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid contact with her. The front of the SUV struck Whisnant. She was was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, 35-year old Misty Grindle of Cleveland, was uninjured. No charges will be filed.
