A Clarkesville woman is recovering from injuries she suffered Tuesday night in a single vehicle, SUV rollover wreck on Hwy. 197 just north of Clarkesville. Trooper Aaron Walden with the Georgia State Patrol Post in Toccoa says 45-year old Laura Adams was transported to Habersham Medical Center with chest pain apparently caused by the seatbelt that held her in as her Kia Sorento flipped. She also complained of pain in her arm. Walden says Adams had no other visible injuries.

Trooper Walden says Adams was traveling north on 197 around 8:30pm on April 7 when she ran off the road into the ditch just south of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was unable to regain control and her Sorento flipped as it hit the culvert at the church entrance. Adams’ SUV came to rest right side up on the right shoulder of the road. She was the only person involved in the accident. No citations were issued.

Traffic was stalled along Hwy. 197 North Tuesday night as emergency crews cleared the scene.
