Eight people, including a woman from Clarkesville, face a variety of charges following a prostitution sting operation by law enforcement at a Banks County hotel.
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office says the operation was run from a cooperating hotel in the Banks Crossing area. The investigation was part of law enforcement’s ongoing effort to keep the high traffic, commercial area from becoming overrun with crime.
“Prostitution, pandering, or drugs will not be tolerated inside the county,” says Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed. “Banks Crossing is a place for good people to eat, shop and rest for awhile. Our citizens and the business owners depend on the revenue brought in by the Banks Crossing businesses. Our continued special operations in the area will aid in preventing the exit from becoming like so many criminal infested exits along our interstate system.”
