Clarkesville city voters will return to the polls in June to elect a new City Council member. The Council this week approved a resolution calling for a Special Election to be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. The winner of the election will fill the unexpired term of former Councilman Casey Ramsey.
Ramsey resigned on February 27, 2017 after serving on the council for nine years. His term officially expires on December 31, 2019.

Candidates may qualify to run April 24-26 at the Habersham County Office of Elections and Registration located in the basement of the County Administrative Building (old courthouse) at 555 Monroe Street in Clarkesville. The qualifying fee is $18.
