After nearly a year of discussions, the Clarkesville City Council is set to approve a short term rental ordinance at Monday’s council meeting. According to City Manager Keith Dickerson, the city already has regulations in place addressing short term rentals. However, the council had not finalized the ordinance to go along with the regulations.

Prior to the meeting, the council will hold a work session. Dickerson will be giving an update on park equipment the city purchased last year from govdeals.com. The city has been refurbishing the equipment for use in the city.

The city council will also go into executive session to discuss personnel. By law, the city council does not have to discuss what the topic it is about. However, with the recent resignation of Clarkesville Police Chief Brad Barrett, the city council will want to move forward with filling that position as soon as possible.

The Clarkesville City Council’s work session will begin at 5:00 p.m. and their regular meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings are held at Clarkesville City Hall at 123 North Laurel Street in Clarkesville.
