Clarkesville Main Street Director Trudy Crunkleton is resigning from her position to take over as the city manager for the City of Clayton.

Crunkleton delivered her last main street report to the city council on Monday night after City Manager Kieth Dickerson announced her resignation.

“We’re thankful for her service and her time here, and the things that she’s accomplished,” Dickerson said.

Crunkleton will leave her position at the end of April. She is the second person to resign from the city in the past 30 days, with Councilwoman Roxie Barron resigning from the council on Mar. 16.

“I have enjoyed the opportunity I was given by the mayor and council to serve as the main street director for the City of Clarkesville,” Crunkleton tells Now Habersham. “The connections I have made will always be special and I will continue to watch with interest the progress of the city. It is a bittersweet decision to leave but I am looking forward to my new position as the city manager for the City of Clayton.”
