Clarkesville lifts boil water advisory

The Clarkesville Water Department has lifted its boil water advisory on Monday, October 14 that was issued on Thursday, October 10.

Public Works Project Manager Joe Deputy said the advisory was issued as a precaution after a water main broke at the entrance to North Georgia Technical College.

The water department issued a boil water advisory for the college campus on GA 197 North, Sutton Mill, and adjacent roads.

The advisory was extended to any Clarkesville city water customer in the area whose service was interrupted Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10.

Those affected were advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before cooking, drinking, or preparing baby food with it.
