Clarkesville Lifts Boil Water Advisory

A Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for Clarkesville water customers affected by a water main break Friday. The advisory impacted customers on Memorial Drive, View Street and Richard Street in Clarkesville.

Water samples were collected and tested by EPD to insure against possible contamination. Those samples came back clear Tuesday.

Clarkesville Public Works Superintendent Jeremy Garmon told Now Habersham it’s not clear what caused the main to break but that a surge in pressure coupled with colder temperatures may have played a part. Crews spent all night Friday on into early Saturday repairing the line.
