2nd annual Glow Run Saturday in Clarkesville

It’s back! The Glow Run is returning to Clarkesville this weekend.

The night run is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st. It’s an event “where you can take part in a 5k run dressed to the hilt with glow sticks and all things bright and shiny,” according to Clarkesville’s Facebook page.

The event is hosted by the Clarkesville Kiwanis Club and Clarkesville Main Street. All proceeds will go to Clarkesville Kiwanis Club projects benefitting children in Habersham County.

You can participate in either the one-loop Fun Run or the 5K race. Both races will begin at Pitts Park.

Participants will receive a t-shirt and glow stick, among other prizes. All participants will have a chance to be awarded as officials will “hand out special prizes for Glow runners who are the brightest, most flashy, and most reflective,” according to the website.

Registration and a pre-race party will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Pitts Park.

The Fun Run begins at 7:30 p.m., and the 5K race starts at 8 p.m.

After the race, participants and spectators are invited to stay for the After-Glow Dance Party with music, black lights, and a big screen laser show.

Race applications can be downloaded from www.active.com or www.clarkesville.com. For additional information, call 706 – 754 – 2220.

Youth and adults of all ages are encouraged to attend.
