Clarkesville couple charged with burglary

A Clarkesville couple is charged in connection with a Memorial Day weekend burglary. Tina and Paul Roach were arrested for allegedly burglarizing a camper near Blue Creek BBQ in Hollywood.

Habersham County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Wurtz says officers were called to the scene at 4412 Hollywood Highway around 10 p.m. Sunday. “It was found that a camper on the property had been broken into and several items had been taken and that the camper had damage caused by the burglary,” Wurtz says.

While taking information from the victim, deputies were involved in a short vehicle pursuit. Wurtz says they recovered property from the vehicle involved that “was possibly taken from the Blue Creek BBQ burglary and possibly other crimes also.”

Responding officers Lt. Jones, Sgt. Jarrell and Deputy Lilly were all commended on a “great job” for stopping the suspects while leaving the scene and arresting them.

Tina Roach, age 45, and Paul Roach, age 54, were booked into to the Habersham County jail. They’re both charged with burglary.
