Clarkesville City Council to discuss key matters in upcoming meetings

Monday, December 4, the Clarkesville City Council is set to discuss important topics during their upcoming work session and regular meeting.

Work session

Starting at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room, the council will discuss several issues.

One such issue is the recommendation that E. Wayne and E. Morgan Streets be returned to two-way streets. The council will also discuss the 2022 city audit presented by Joely Mixon. There is a possibility of purchasing the Bicentennial trailer, and the council will hear from Kim Jackson who lives on Rocky Branch Road.

Regular Meeting

The council’s regular meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers where it is anticipated the council will take action on the city’s updated city logo and short-term rental ordinance.

There will be consideration as to leasing Deas Chapel to Grace United Methodist Church of Clarkesville and recognizing Jeremy Gattis and the Lowe’s HERO’s Project for their efforts in the restoration of the Clarkesville Community Garden.

It is on the agenda to approve the council’s meeting and holiday schedule for 2024.

Citizens are encouraged to attend these meetings to stay informed and participate in discussions that impact the community.

Both meetings will be held at Clarkesville City Hall on 123 N. Laurel Drive in Clarkesville.
