Clarkesville boil water advisory lifted

Clarkesville has lifted the boil water advisory it issued for homes and businesses in the Grant Street corridor Monday following a major water leak.

The advisory affected city water customers between Washington Street and Old Clarkesville Mill Road.

City water customers in those areas may resume normal water use.

Joseph Deputy of ESG Operations, Inc., which manages Clarkesville’s public works, says a valve failed on a 10-inch line that feeds water to the downtown area, disrupting service on Nov. 6.
