Interim Clarkesville Fire Chief Jason Poole has been appointed to fill the job left vacant in August when Jerry Palmer resigned. Poole’s appointment was announced Wednesday by the Clarkesville Mayor and Council and City Manager, Barbara Kesler.

“Jason has been a dedicated and valued leader in the Clarkesville Fire Department for sixteen years and will continue to provide excellent fire services in Clarkesville,” an announcement from the city says.

Palmer resigned this year after eight years as Chief to spend more time with his family.

A formal pinning ceremony for Chief Poole will be held at the January 9, 2017 Clarkesville Council Meeting. The public is welcome to attend and show their support for Chief Poole.
