City of Cleveland lifts boil water notice

(Cleveland)- The boil water notice that was issued by the City of Cleveland earlier this week has been lifted.

On Monday the city water system had a 6-inch water line break which resulted in the notice being issued.  The affected areas were Putnam Road, Windy Hills Road, and Garrison Drive.

The notice is required by the EPD  to ensure the safety of the drinking water to the city’s customers in the event of the possibility of a contaminant entering the system.

Andrea Smith, Water distribution Operator for the City of Cleveland Public Works advised Friday morning that the EPD has confirmed with the City that all tests are clear and the Boil Water Notice has been lifted

This notice is required by EPD when water pressure drops below 20 PSI (pounds per square inch). The boiled water can be used for drinking purposes until bacteriological samples can be collected and tested. Water needs to be boiled until the city lifts the notice.
