The City of Cornelia is seeking public input for the 2018 Comprehensive Plan. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) requires that communities complete and maintain a Comprehensive Plan to help direct future growth and development. The Comprehensive Plan is intended to be a community-guided document that identifies community goals, needs and opportunities, and a vision for the future.
The public is invited to provide comments through a community survey available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/corneliaplan. A Spanish version of the survey is also available at https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/cuidaddecornelia.
In addition, the City is hosting an open house to educate residents and business owners on the City’s 2018 Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of the open house is to let the community know about this process and to provide a venue for public feedback.
Community members can give their opinions on various goals, issues, opportunities, and help guide the development of a future vision for the City. The survey results along with input provided at the Open House event will be reviewed by the Stakeholder Committee formed by the City and used to guide the direction of the Comprehensive Plan.
The open house is scheduled for Monday, November 13, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at the Cornelia Community House. The Community House is located at 601 Wyly Street in Cornelia.
Check the Cornelia City website for additional public involvement opportunities as the comprehensive plan process continues.
