Five people are in jail and a 3-year old is in protective custody after a series of drug arrests in White County. According to a press release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), the arrests were made Wednesday by ARDEO, the White County Sheriff’s Office and Cleveland Police. Officers seized approximately 17 grams of methamphetamine valued at $1,900 “based solely on information received from concerned citizens.”
ARDEO says the first arrest came when White County authorities received information that Justin Allen Boles of Cleveland had methamphetamine in his car. White County Sheriff’s Deputies located the 22-year old Boles at a local store and found approximately 6 grams of meth in his car.
As White County authorities were searching for Boles they received information that another man, 40-year old Jimmy Adams of Cleveland, was also transporting methamphetamine in his car.
“Cleveland Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Adams and located approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine,” the release states. A 3-year old child was found in Adams’ car along with 36-year old David Peck of Cleveland. Authorities contacted the child’s mother and asked her to meet them at the police department. They say 28-year old Barbara Jane Parham of Helen “brought the mother to the police department and methamphetamine was found in her car.” Parham was arrested. The child was placed into the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services.
During the Adams investigation, White County authorities learned the location of a fifth subject, 35-year old Julie Harris, who had outstanding warrants for Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. Harris was arrested at 211 Cameron Point.
Boles, Adams, Peck, and Parham are charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Special Agent in Charge of ARDEO, Mitchell Posey, says all of the subjects except Boles are connected. They’re being held in the White County Detention Center.
