Christmas Eve fire damages Cleveland home

(Cleveland)- A Christmas Eve fire in Cleveland has displaced one. Ricky Pruitt, Cleveland Fire Chief, said they received the call just after 5 PM to 365 Hood Street.

Pruitt said, a passerby saw smoke coming from the residence, they kicked the door in and located the resident. According to Pruitt, the male subject had been cooking, left the the kitchen and fell asleep.

The victim, who was treated for smoke inhalation, was not injured. The home sustained heavy damage. Along with Cleveland Fire, White County fire units assisted in battling the blaze.
