Children’s Sale returns to Habersham this weekend

It’s become an annual spring rite of passage for families throughout Northeast Georgia. The popular, biannual Children’s Sale is being held again this weekend at the Habersham County Fairgrounds in Clarkesville. Owner Sonya Hurt says 315 vendors have registered to sell their gently used children’s clothes, toys and accessories. “It’s already looking real full in here, as you can tell, and we’ve only dropped off for three hours yesterday,” Hurt told Now Habersham on Wednesday. The sale opens to the public tomorrow. Hours are:

The sale opens to the public tomorrow. Hours are:

Friday, March 27, 9am-8pm

Saturday, March 28, 9am-2pm

Much of the remaining merchandise will be sold at half-price from 12-2pm on Saturday

A volunteers only pre-sale will be held tonight, Thursday, March 26. If you want to shop tonight’s pre-sale event you must volunteer to help sort, stock and/or sell the merchandise. Volunteers are needed both Friday and Saturday. Stacey Kastner of Demorest volunteers so that her daughter can shop the pre-sale event. “She works full time and I come up here and volunteer for her where she can come to the early sale,” Kastner explains. She says the deals her daughter gets make volunteering worthwhile. “She pretty much clothes her daughter for free because she sells and then she buys here and, basically, she has no money in her clothes.”

You can volunteer by calling Sonya Hurt at 706-499-4151 or stop by and see her at the fairgrounds.
