Charles Thomas Welborn, age 73 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020.
Born at the Charm House in Clarkesville, Georgia on December 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Thomas C. & Jessie Smith Welborn. Charles served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Real Estate Broker for many years and was an entrepreneur of various businesses throughout his life including most recent years as the owner of Runway Fish House in Baldwin. Charles enjoyed golf, fishing, landscaping his yards, his antique cars, & precious time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother Glen Welborn.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn Short Welborn of Cornelia, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Kristin & John London of Cornelia, GA; Jennifer & Jeremy Williams of Gainesville, GA; brother, Harry Lee Welborn of Alto, GA; sister, Selina Walker of Alto, GA; grandchildren, Molly Williams & Rhett Williams both of Gainesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Level Grove Cemetery with Rev. Terry Rice officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, American Legion Post #84, Rabun County D.A.V. Chapter #15, & the United States Army.
