Charles Kenneth Moore, age 74 of Mount Airy, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 04, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born at the “Charm House” in Clarkesville, Georgia on September 24, 1946, he was a son of the late Prince Charles & Geneva Broiles Moore. Kenneth was a graduate of South Habersham High School and served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He retired from Ethicon – (a Johnson & Johnson Family Company) with over 22 years of dedicated service. Kenneth was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Gragg Moore; brother, Jerry Moore; grandchildren, Caleb Moore & Tristin Helton.
Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Amanda & Brian Helton of Cornelia, GA; sons, Josh Moore of Mount Airy, GA; Jerry Payne of Hayesville, NC; Chris Payne of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Lila Payne, Kaegan Payne, Amber Oliver, Ryan Oxner, & McKenzie Moore; 2 great-grandchildren, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 08, 2021, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
