A 29-year-old Carnesville man died Monday when the pickup truck he was driving ran off the road and struck several trees.
The fatal crash happened on GA 106 at Bold Springs Road in Franklin County.
State troopers from Post 52 in Hartwell responded to the wreck around 2:47 p.m. on February 6. Their investigation revealed David A. McDonald was driving a Ford F-150 south on Hwy. 106 when he ran off the west shoulder of the road and lost control.
“The Ford pickup re-entered the roadway and traveled off the east shoulder. After exiting the east shoulder, the Ford pickup struck several trees with its driver’s side,” says SFC R. Camran Fleming of Post 52.
McDonald was the only person in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
