(Cleveland)- White County Fire with Automatic Aid from the City of Cleveland responded to a camper fire Tuesday morning behind Mossy Creek Grocery south of Cleveland.
Fire units arrived and found a 28’ Camper with smoke showing said Ana Newberry, White County Fire Department spokeswoman.
She said the fire was extinguished by the fire department personnel upon their arrival. The occupants were not home at the time and 911 was alerted by neighbors who originally attempted to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.
According to Newberry, an investigation was conducted and found that the roof air conditioner malfunctioned which caused the living area to ignite.
Newberry said the camper received smoke damage; the camper is a total loss.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the owners. No injuries were reported.
