Burglary investigation ends in drug bust

A burglary investigation in Jackson County ended in a drug bust.

Officials say they found burglary suspect Bobby Seagraves on March 2 in Nicholson at the home of Johnny Strickland.  Seagraves was wanted for second-degree burglary for allegedly stealing firearms, lawn equipment, and power tools. Strickland was out of jail after being arrested in mid-February on drug charges.

According to the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), Seagraves had a quantity of methamphetamine and some of the stolen tools inside his vehicle at the residence.

While executing a search warrant, officers say they found approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine and 125 oxycodone pills.

Officers arrested the two and charged them with possession of methamphetamine and Schedule II narcotics. In addition, they charged Seagraves with theft by taking and second-degree burglary.

Agents say the investigation is active and ongoing.
