Hawks forward Michael Scott arrested on felony drug charges in Banks County

Atlanta Hawks forward Michael Scott was one of two men arrested on felony drug charges in Banks County after leading deputies on a brief high speed interstate chase. Sgt. Carissa McFadden with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office says officers attempted to stop an SUV on I-85 North for following too closely. The driver sped up to nearly 100 mph and drove two miles up the road before stopping.

McFadden says the driver and passenger told officers they had marijuana in the vehicle. She says, “Deputies located over an ounce of Marijuana in the vehicle along with approximately 10.9 grams of MDMA (“Molly”).”

20-year old Antonn Imhotep Scott of Acworth and his passenger, 27-year old James “Michael” Scott of Smyrna were both arrested and transported to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.

Antonn Scott is charged with fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement officers, following too close, felony possession of marijuana, and possession of schedule I.  Michael Scott is charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of schedule I.

Authorities say this black SUV led police on a brief, high speed chase up I-85 North in Banks County. The 98mph chase started at Martin Bridge Road (Exit 154) and ended two miles up the interstate.
