Brian Keith “Pops” Thomas, age 51, of Cornelia, went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Brian was born on July 13, 1972, to Roy Junior Thomas and Brenda Gail Standridge Thomas. In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kelley and Janie Phillips Standridge and Charlie and Mellie Ward Thomas.
Brian had a very strong work ethic. He was an owner-operator of Thomas Transport. He spent his free time gaming and golfing with family and friends. He was referred to as Gentle Giant as his gentle nature commanded love and respect from everyone he met however, he was our family’s personal tech guru.
Brian loved any type of sport growing up. He played baseball and basketball, but his favorite was football, where he was a quarterback for the Habersham Central Raiders. He recently had his first grandson, who gave him the nickname “Pops,” and has had him wrapped around his finger from the moment he was born.
Survivors include his loving wife, Tawana Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Danae’ Thomas and Kane Jeeves; grandson, Jackson Jeeves; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Donald Wade; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Rhonda Thomas and Scott and Amy Thomas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Perry and Sue Davidson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Audra and Billy Payne; nieces and nephews: Brandi and Michael Worsham, Brent and Noel Wade, Brandon and Brooke Hulsey, Jonathan and Kristen Payne, Autumn Rogers, Nicolas Thomas, Serenity Wade, Gage Wade, Abigail Wade, Jordon Herron, Alivia and Brinley Worsham, Brayden Hulsey, Layla Vaughn, Easton and Briggs Clack, Nash and Tessa Payne; aunts and uncles: Pat and Charles Turpin, Linda and Garnett Smith, Joyce Gibbs, Wendell Standridge; and the boys, Mister Mister and Little Bear.
The celebration home service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. John Umberhant, Rev. Tim Beasley, and Rev. Donald Wade. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lula.
The family will receive family and friends from 4:00 pm until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
