Now Habersham is proud to provide a new series called Breakfast in the ‘Sham for our readers. We will be featuring locally-owned restaurants who serve breakfast or brunch in Habersham. We hope to feature some great morning meals prepared by our own local chefs. We will also rate them according to taste, appearance and cost.
Today, we are featuring Natalie Jane’s located in Downtown Cornelia. Not only does Natalie Jane’s serve a great breakfast, the restaurant also offers a coffee bar and expert barista, Scott Augustine, a long-time accomplished barista, before we even knew barista’s were important. The breakfast meals are indescribably delicious in appearance, and perhaps the lowest cost, best tasting breakfast meals in Northeast Georgia.
We reviewed two meals at Natalie Jane’s: The Two-hander Breakfast Sandwich, a bargain at $ 5.49 and the Heart Attack Special, $7.99.
The Two-hander Sandwich features two giant slices of whole grain bread, eggs, breakfast meat of your choice, gravy, cheese, the whole kitchen sink. Amazing, and it does indeed take, at least, two hands to lift off the plate. Delicious.
The Heart Attack Special is not diet food in which you might follow with a vigorous workout. The attractive morning bowl includes jalapeno cheese grits topped with home fries, crumbled bacon and sausage, cheddar cheese, and eggs smothered in gravy. CAUTION: only to be consumed by serious breakfast lovers.
They also serve healthy breakfast dishes, and all are ridiculously low priced, and every dish is attractive in presentation. Coffee by Barista Augustine is $2.25 and a cup of specialty coffee is normally less than $5.
Natalie Jane’s has a 5 star rating on Tripadvisor, 4 stars on Yelp, and 4.5 stars on Facebook. While most everyone knows about her great lunch and dinner menu, often accompanied by live music, many may not realize Natalie Jane’s tops the list for locally served breakfast meals. On Taste/Appearance/Affordability, we rate it:
