(Cleveland)- An armed robbery in north Hall County Wednesday morning could possibly be connected with a break-in at Dollar General store in Cleveland earlier.
Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said, the Dollar General store located on the south side of the city was broken into at 5.57 am. Foster said, according to security video a black male broke the glass out in front of the store and was in the store for possibly two minutes. Chief Foster said, they believe the suspect was scared away by the audible alarm at the store.
According Foster they don’t believe anything was taken. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to process the scene.
A short time later the Shell station north of Clermont was robbed at gunpoint. Hall County Sheriff’s Deputy Nicole Bailes said the robbery happened around 7:20 a.m. when the suspect wielded a handgun and demanded money from a clerk. Bailes said the suspect left on foot with cash from the store. No one was injured in the robbery.
Chief Foster said, White County had another Dollar General store broken into on August 28th the same way and they attempted to break into the Texaco station at Clermont.
The White County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Hall County in the search for the robbery suspect.
