A single-story residence in Braselton is a total loss after it was destroyed by fire Friday night.

Hall County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the 4500 block of White Horse Drive around 8:12 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the single-story home was fully involved, says Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.

The homeowner and their dog were able to escape the residence before firefighters arrived. The residence and a vehicle parked in the driveway were destroyed.

Firefighters employed defensive tactics, including aerial operations, to combat the blaze. Using a hydrant located across the street, fire personnel contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to nearby woods and homes.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist two residents displaced by the fire.

The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
