North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) announced the 2019 Employee of the Year winner and celebrated milestone accomplishments of several employees at the college’s annual awards banquet held this week at the Clarkesville campus.
NGTC President Dr. Mark Ivester presented the 2019 Employee of the Year award to Director of Facilities Michael Boyd of Toccoa. Boyd has been employed by NGTC since 2007.
The award recognizes staff members who are nominated by their peers for exemplifying over and above normal duties and exemplary support of faculty, staff, and students. The criteria for NGTC Employee of the Year Award is based upon contributions to the workplace, contributions to the larger community, contributions to one’s area of expertise, taking initiative, willingness to take on additional responsibilities, customer service, and loyalty to North Georgia Technical College.
“Michael understands and is very committed to our college goals for student success,” says Dr. Ivester. “He approaches his role as facilities director with that student-focused mentality. He is a difference-maker at NGTC! I am very proud to have him as part of the NGTC family.”
Other staff members nominated for this year’s award included Joyce Adams, custodian; Tony Fulbright, director of accounting; Tammy Keyes, accounts payable specialist; Sheila Kisner, academic affairs program specialist; Patrick Ledford, director of career placement and development; Dorothy Mayfield, academic affairs program assistant; Lisa Ramsey, lead cashier; and Justin Ritcey, maintenance technician.
The college also handed out service awards to employees. This year’s recipients are listed below.
