Montgomery, AL – The Piedmont women’s cross country team began the season at the Western Carolina Invitational Saturday with five fresh faces making their debut with the Lady Lions. Bowles led the way for Piedmont as she finished the 2-mile with a time of 12:55.89 while MACKENZIE DEVINE was hot on her heels running a 13:05.18.
The remaining three competitors for Piedmont finished with just 12 seconds separating them all as it was AMBER DUFFY taking the third spot for Piedmont with a 13:43.97. KAYLEIGH BANKS and KRISTIN WHITLOCK rounded out the scorers for the Lady Lions. The team average of 13:29.73 was an entire minute and a half faster than Piedmont’s women’s team average from this event in 2014 when they averaged 14:59.
