The town of Tallulah Falls has issued a Boil Water Advisory for residents of Hickory Nut Mountain. The town issued the advisory as a precaution following repairs at the Hickory Nut booster pump station.
A public notice issued by Tallulah Falls says users may notice brown, tinted, and/or cloudy water.
“If you experience air in your system, go to the fixture that is highest in elevation in the house and open it to allow air to flush out of the system,” the notice states.
Water customers in the affected area are advised to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before cooking, drinking, or preparing baby food with it.
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
