The Clarkesville Water Department has issued a boil water advisory for the North Georgia Technical College campus on GA 197 North, Sutton Mill, and adjacent roads.
Public Works Project Manager Joe Deputy says the advisory was issued as a precaution after a water main broke at the college entrance.
The advisory extends to any Clarkesville city water customer in the area whose service was interrupted Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10.
Those affected are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before cooking, drinking, or preparing baby food with it.
The boil water advisory is in effect until further notice.
