A body was found beneath an overpass at North Pond Street in Toccoa Friday morning.
Toccoa Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said authorities discovered the body of a person, who has not been identified, there on the railroad tracks around 2 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24. A cause of death has not been determined at this time.
While no foul play is suspected, the GBI has been brought in to assist in the investigation.
Carlisle said the body has been sent to the Stephens County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
