Bobby Lee Gabrels, age 85, of Baldwin, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Mr. Gabrels was born January 9, 1939, in Clarkesville, Georgia, to the late Clarence Garnett Gabrels and Ola Elrod Gabrels. An avid fisherman and golfer, Bobby spent countless hours by the water and on the green, finding joy and peace in the great outdoors. His love for these pastimes was only surpassed by his dedication to his family and his work. A loyal employee of Synthetic Industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic, commitment, and kindness to his colleagues, he retired with 44 years of loyal service. Bobby was also a devoted member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church, where his faith was a guiding light in his life. His presence within the church community will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Tammy Craven, brother, Junior Gabrels, and sister, Nathalie Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Gravitt Gabrels, daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Chad L. Wade, of Mt. Airy, son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Sherri Gabrels, of Clarkesville, brother, J.D. and Winnie Gabrels, of Demorest, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Parker and Rev. Tim Beasley officiating. Interment will follow at Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
