Bobby Jerald Studdard

Funeral services for Bobby Jerald Studdard, age 84, of Cashiers, NC, and Cartersville, GA, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Wofford’s Crossroads Baptist Church in White, GA. Dr. Daniel Robinson will officiate with interment to follow the service at Wofford’s Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a reception in the Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the ground committal.

Mr. Studdard passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at his home in Cashiers, NC. He was surrounded by his family.

Born in Baldwyn, Mississippi, on April 13, 1938, Bobby was the son of the late Robert Joseph Studdard and Stella Pauline Derryberry. Bobby was the owner and operator of a contract sewing factory, R.J. Studdard & Son, Inc., which he started in 1969 and named in honor of his father. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management. He was a member of the Highlands Central Baptist Church in Highlands, NC. Bobby was also a race car driver in both the Sports Club of America and the Automobile Racing Club of America. He was the SCCA National Champion in E Production in 1987. In 1989 he won the pole position in an ARCA race at Talladega Raceway. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time just being with his wife of 45 years. He had a marvelous sense of humor, loved to tell stories, and was loved by many.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Studdard of Cashiers, NC and Cartersville, GA; his children Susan Lewis, Jay Studdard (Fran), Julie Adams (Mike), grandchildren Lauren Lewis (Darrell Sweat), R. J. Lewis (Brittany), Eli Harris, Anthony Adams, Chanci Culp (Matt), and Jake Studdard, five great-grandchildren, as well as special friends Harry and Vic.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wofford’s Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery Maintenance fund at PO Box 59 White, GA 30184.
