Fire Destroys Carnation Place House

(Cleveland)- Monday morning around 11:15, White County firefighters along with automatic aid from the City of Cleveland and Lee Arrendale Firefighters, responded to a structure fire on Carnation Place off Paradise Valley Road north of Cleveland.

White County Public Safety spokeswoman Ana Newbery advised in an email, the 1200 sq ft single family residence was reported to have flames showing. According to Newberry, the fire which completely destroyed the structure, was unoccupied.

State Fire Investigator Brian Smith was called to the scene and is presently investigating the cause. No injuries were reported

Welcome Back Chief Roy!

Baldwin City Mayor, Jerry Neace, welcomed Chief Joe Roy during Monday’s City Council meeting. Noting that the Chief was still sporting a “chicken wing,”  refering to the shoulder brace on Roy’s left arm, Neece told Roy he was glad to see him giving his regular report to the Council.
