Blanche Evelyn Davis Burns, age 85 of Demorest, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.
Born on September 29, 1935, in Demorest, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Mary Elizabeth Blair Davis. She was formerly employed with Yonah Realty and was a member of Independent Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Burns; brothers, Jr. Davis and Wade Davis; sisters, Lucille Martin and Brenda Thurmond.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry Lee and Frances Burns of Mt. Airy; daughter, Sandra Diane Whitmire of Demorest; grandchildren, Angela Tench (Randy), Tonya Parson (Lee) and Samantha Dills (Allen); five great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd Davis and Ray Davis both of Demorest; sisters, Vernia Burns and Geneva Gosnell both of Demorest; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Alvin Burns and Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, at the funeral home.
