This past weekend, the City of Cornelia celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Big Red Apple Festival.
Through the rainy weather, the festival continued on with a strong crowd.
Presented by Cornelia Main Street and Windstream, the festival featured arts and crafts and food vendors, plus local entertainment. People chowed down on locally made chocolate-covered apples, enjoyed hayrides to Chenocetah Tower, browsed a classic car show, and entered an apple pie competition and horseshoe tournament.
In addition to the festival activities, Habersham County’s bicentennial group Habersham 200 celebrated with its own booth at the festival.
Habersham Chamber of Commerce president Dr. Judy Taylor spoke, updating the audience on the county’s plans for the bicentennial celebration.
