Betty Jean Harris “Munzie” Williams

Betty Jean Harris “Munzie” Williams, age 77, of Toccoa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Born on October 3, 1947, in Cornelia, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Harris and Julia Crow Harris. Betty Jean is remembered as one who helped others. She was a self-employed caretaker for a number of years, who spent much of her time cooking for and feeding others, sewing, crocheting and praying for others. She loved her soul mate, David “Blue” Taylor, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is described as an example of love and peace. Betty Jean was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and trying new foods and recipes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Terria LaTonya Williams Young; brother, Charles “Buster” Harris; and sister, Linda Jean Harris.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her soul mate of 23 years, David “Blue” Taylor; son and daughter-in-law, Gary Williams (Michelle); daughters, Barbara Williams and Kimberly Williams; grandchildren, Demitri Banks, Natasha Williams, Gavin Young, CaDarius Giles, and Shaneqwa Gipson; great-grandchildren, Anslee Banks, Dayana Banks, Zarriah Williams, Xadrian Williams, Landrie Young, Zamiya Banks, Cymphoni Giles, Cari Giles, and Caili Giles; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca Perry (Tommy); several nieces, nephews, special cousins, other relatives and friends, including a dear spiritual friend, Mary Jane Golden.

Funeral services are at 1 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire, with Minister Barbara Williams officiating.
