Betty Allen Tatum, age 98, of Clarkesville, Georgia, took her Heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Born in Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia, on June 06, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lester J. & Clara Berrong Allen. Betty was a graduate of Sautee-Nacoochee School, Class of 1942. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, & grandmother. Betty was very engaged in her community and was known for her great cooking skills. She was proud to have served as President of the Providence Homemaker’s Club for over 41 years.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, John C. Tatum; sisters, Marie McCord, Ethel Stephens, & Annie Rose Davis; brothers, Arthur Allen & Earl Allen.
Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Doris & Gerald Kastner of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, GA; Carolyn & John Roddy of Marietta, GA; sister, Edith Sliger of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Chris & Pam Kastner, Lori & James Irvin, Elizabeth & Jeff Wells, Tyler Roddy, Andrew & Victoria Roddy, Katherine & James Dornbush; 8 great-grandchildren & one great-grandchild on the way; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Don Drawdy officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
