Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville will hold a special Valentine’s Day worship service this Sunday to dedicate its newly renovated and enlarged sanctuary. The church will also break ground on its new youth building. Dr. Craig Ward, Senior Pastor, extends a warm invitation for members, former members, and guests to join us for this special service.
The Building Planning Team, under the chairmanship of Chad Johnson, worked with contractor Blake Rainwater of Rainwater and Associates and architect Butch Birchfield of Croft and Associates to enlarge the seating capacity of the sanctuary from 390 to 568 seats. Included in the project are new seating, new audio and visual equipment, and new lighting as well as an enlarged overall facility and newly decorated choir rehearsal suite.
The dedication service will be an integral part of worship on February 14 beginning at 10:15 a.m. The Celebration Choir and Praise Team, under the direction of new Minister of Worship, Matthew Butler, will lead the congregation in worship. Dr. Craig Ward will bring an inspiring message and lead the dedication service.
Groundbreaking ceremony
Following the service the church congregation will move outside to the back of the existing church plant for a groundbreaking service for the new youth and young adult education building. Planned as phase two of the overall project, the new youth and young adult building will house Bible education space for youth and young adult classes and a large gathering place for youth called “The Summit.” For over ten years, youth activities at Bethlehem were housed across Highway 197 in the older facilities of the church. It has been the desire of the church for a number of years to relocate youth activities to the main campus.

The community is always welcome to join us any Sunday for regular activities. Normally our Classic, traditional, Worship is at 8:30 a.m., Life Group Bible Study for all ages at 9:30 a.m., and Celebration (contemporary) Worship at 10:45 a.m. Childcare is available for services and Kidz Worship for children four (4) years old through second grade is available during the Celebration Service.
Valentine’s Day worship schedule
Join us for the special activities on Sunday, February 14. This one Sunday, Life Group Bible Studies for all ages meet will meet at 9:00 a.m. and the special Worship Service will meet at 10:15 a.m. for celebration and dedication of the sanctuary. Childcare and Kidz Worship will also be available on this special Sunday.
