Friends of the Clarkesville Library will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the group’s annual Book & Author Luncheon in March with award winning author Diana Palmer.
Palmer is a long time resident of Habersham County and a consistent New York Times, USA Today, and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author.
She began her career as a journalist and spent sixteen years writing for daily and weekly newspapers before devoting herself full time to writing novels. During her years in journalism Palmer (whose married name is Susan Kyle) wrote for several local newspapers including the Gainesville Times and the now defunct Tri-County Advertiser in Clarkesville.
Her first novel under the name Diana Palmer was published in 1979. She now has over 115 novels in print, according to her website. Palmer’s work includes historical novels, contemporary romance and science fiction.
In the press release announcing Palmer’s March speaking engagement Friends of the Library writes, “Palmer credits the kindness of the Clarkesville library staff, who helped her obtain valuable research material, with her initial success as a published writer.” She’s an alumnus of Piedmont College having graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in History degree in 1995. “She considers her time at Piedmont College to be some of the most satisfying four years of her life.”
The Book & Author Luncheon is scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in The Commons building at Piedmont College.
Tickets are $30 and are now on sale through March 4 at the Clarkesville Library located at 178 East Green Street in Clarkesville. You may also order your tickets by mail by sending a check made out to ‘Friends of the Clarkesville Library’ to: PO Box 546, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
