The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is working to determine what caused a fire that broke out in a Lula barn Sunday evening.
Around 6:40 p.m. on May 21, Hall County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 8700 block of Belton Bridge Road.
When firefighters arrived, they found the barn was fully involved.
“Crews drew water from the nearest hydrant and began to attack the bulk of the fire,” says Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.
There were 300 hay bales and farm equipment inside the barn, Ledsinger said. Crews worked through the night to extinguish all of the hot spots.
“Crews will be rotating every two hours until there are no more smoke and heat signatures,” said Ledsinger.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office assisted in detouring traffic away from the scene for a period of time while the road was closed off.
