Two people were hospitalized after a minivan crashed into the back of a bakery truck this morning at the intersection of Georgia Highway 15 and Banks Crossing Drive. The wreck happened just south of the Wal-Mart Super Center in the busy Banks County retail corridor.
Banks County Fire and EMS had to cut the driver and a passenger out of the van.
Banks County Sheriff’s Sergeant Carissa McFaddin tells Now Habersham, “Extraction was performed by Banks County Fire and EMS. One patient was airlifted while the other was transported by Banks County EMS to Athens Regional Medical Center.”
The identities of the patients have not been released at this time and their conditions are unknown.
According to the US Department of Transportation, the truck involved is licensed to Anthony Seabolt who operates out of Danielsville, Georgia.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck.
