Banks County vacation home destroyed by fire

Investigators are trying to determine what caused a vacation home in Banks County to go up in flames.

The fire at 654 Ridge Lane in Alto broke out just after 4 p.m. on Monday, July 17.

Firefighters arrived to find the single-family structure fully involved. The house, which was located off the main road, was a total loss, says Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols.

According to Nichols, no one was present at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

The Banks County Fire Department and State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause.
