
The Baldwin City Council will discuss the city’s budget time line, manhole adjustments, and the comprehensive plan update during its work session on Tuesday, May 6.
The council will review the schedule for adopting the city’s next fiscal year budget. The schedule will include public hearings for residents to provide input on the budget and when to expect it to be adopted.
Recently, the council discussed paving Highland Pointe subdivision. Before the paving process begins, the city will have to adjust the height of the manholes that are located in the streets of the subdivision.
The council will begin discussions about updating the city’s comprehensive plan. In the coming months, the city will receive input from stakeholders and the community that may be included in the updated comp. Plan.
The Baldwin City Council will hold its work session on Tuesday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Baldwin Municipal Courtroom, located at 155 Willingham Avenue, in Baldwin.
Upcoming community events
The city has scheduled Public Safety Day for Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Baldwin City Hall, this free, family-friendly event will feature demonstrations and interactive activities focusing on public safety awareness.
There will be a town hall meeting on the FY2026 Budget. Residents are invited to a special budget-focused meeting on Tuesday, May 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Baldwin City Hall Community Room. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet city staff, ask questions, and provide input on future priorities.
Both events will be located at 189 Highway 441 Bypass, in Baldwin.
Theron’s Theater at the TAP Yard: On May 23 at 8:00 p.m., the city will host a free outdoor screening of Moana 2. Formerly known as Movies in the Market, the event encourages families to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy a night under the stars.
Concessions will be available, with proceeds benefiting the Shop with a Hero program.
