Baldwin water main breaks repaired

A press release from the city of Baldwin Thursday afternoon informed water customers that all water mains were repaired, according to Baldwin spokesperson John Dills. In the press release, the last of the remaining sections of the water system were being pressurized. But due to the vast number of customers affected by the water outage, pressurizing the water system could last through the night Thursday and water will be restored to all customers in the near future.

Dills’ noted that a boil water advisory is still in effect for all locations previously affected by the water main leak. This will include those areas along Willingham Avenue and all Bank County customers.

He requests that water customers continue to follow posts from the city for updates on the boil water advisory.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY EXPANDED

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, a water leak was discovered at the intersection of US 441 and Willingham Avenue. The leak affected much of Baldwin proper along Willingham Avenue and all water customers in Banks County with Baldwin water accounts. The water outage affected most customers all day Wednesday and most of the day Thursday as crews worked to repair the leak.
