The city of Baldwin will host a groundbreaking ceremony next week for its new public works building.

The groundbreaking will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 201 Industrial Park Road.

The new 7,000-square-foot facility will replace an older building where the public works department is currently housed. It’s a building Mayor-Elect Stephanie Almagno describes as “not ideal for the health and safety of our staff.”

The total construction cost for the new public works building is $938,250. The facility is expected to accommodate Baldwin’s future growth.

Construction should be completed by August 2024.
