Two patrol vehicles sustained minor damage when a Baldwin Police Department SUV ran into a Habersham County sheriff’s patrol car before dawn Thursday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash at approximately 1:17 a.m. on August 3. It happened in the parking lot of Whitfield Funeral Home at 1370 Industrial Boulevard in Baldwin.
While investigating the crash, the state trooper determined that the driver of the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe did not observe the 2021 Dodge Charger parked directly to the right of the Tahoe.
“The driver of the Tahoe attempted to conduct a right turn/maneuver through the parking lot, striking the Dodge Charger and causing minor damage to both patrol vehicles,” the state patrol accident report states.
The wreck did not injure anyone. The state patrol did not release the drivers’ names. According to the report, the trooper did not file any charges against the at-fault driver since the accident occurred on private property.
